What Consumers Can Do

With hundreds of drug-dispensing websites in business, how can consumers tell which websites are legitimate ones, especially when it is very easy to set up a site that is very professional-looking and promises deep discounts or minimum hassles?

"Consumers need to be cautious," says Jeffrey Shuren, M.D., medical officer in FDA's Office of Policy, Planning and Legislation. "You should use the same kind of common sense you use when buying from any business. You look for a reputable dealer. You get recommendations from friends. You check the place out."

Another helpful site that is completely free to use is a new search engine called eDrugSearch.com and it allows consumers to compare prescription drugs online for free. This search engine only accepts licensed and accredited Canadian pharmacies within their database to ensure the highest medication quality and consumer safety. I was really impressed with their low prices, the number of medications wihin their database and I found allot of useful consumer info on their blog at www.eDrugSearch.com/edsblog . If you like their content then you can subscribe to their RSS Feed  like I did. If you don't know what an RSS feed is then click here . Briefly put, it allows you to subscribe to someones content that is updated daily without being spammed because you can unsubscribe at anytime. You will need an RSS Feed reader but that now comes standard in most internet browsers.
